Breeding for the versatile working dog.

It all started in 2010 when my son got his first Catahoula, Athena. Soon, our whole family fell in love with these amazing dogs!  Each one of our grown kids got their own and shortly after, so did we.

 

Now, we enjoy our family time together training, showing, working, and competing with our dogs all over the country.

 

We are a small kennel that has a litter once or twice a year. The decision to breed our dogs is based upon work ethic as utmost importance, temperament, and conformation. We put a lot of thought and consideration into a cross before we make it. Our females are always vet 

checked before breeding to ensure they are in optimal health.

 

By the time our puppies are ready for their new homes, we have introduced them to many environments and situations, so they learn to feel comfortble quickly with new things. They are handled by children, adults, and exposed to other dogs. I place them on gravel, sand, grass - letting them explore the woods without the security of their mama.  Early on, we encourage those positive behaviors critical for working. They are nearly house broken and crate trained as well, so transitioning into their new homes can be easier for all.

 

We begin training our pups that stay with us in basic obedience and leash training at 7 weeks. We introduce them to treeing, herding, and B bay with an experienced dog when they are 12 weeks. 

 

Working homes always have priority. Occassionally, we have pet quality pups available as well.  Please e mail us if you are interested in being placed on our waiting list.
